Heroes of the Scouring
"Once, dragons and men coexisted. They shared a peace forged in wisdom, a peace that lasted many generations. All that was lost when mankind disrupted this balance in a sudden onslaught. Man fought dragon is a savage war that shook the foundations of their world. This war was called The Scouring. Defeated and humbled, dragons vanished from the realm. In time, man rebuilt and spread his dominion across the land and on the islands beyond.”
Athos - The Archsage, Athos, who resided in Arcadia after the Scouring. He is otherwise known as the 'Living Legend'.
Bramimond - The Enigma, Bramimond, who sleeps in the Shrine of the Seals. Bramimond has no one personality, and instead mirrors the personality of those around him. Bramimond is associated with Valor, the Dread Isle, where it perfected dark powers to best dragons.
Roland - The Champion, Roland, who founded Lycia. He is the wielder of the sword Durandal.
Durbans - The Berserker, Durbans, who settled in the Western Isles. His Divine Weapon was the lightning axe Armads.
Elimine - Saint Elimine, who founded Etruria and the main religion of the world. Her present followers still speak about her, and claim that she actually ascended to Heaven from the Tower of the Saint in Aquleia, the capital of Etruria.
Hanon - Divine Trooper Hanon, a female Nomad who founded Sacae. Her Divine Weapon was the bow Murgleis.
Barigan - The Holy Knight, Barigan, who founded Ilia. His Divine Weapon was Maltet.
Hartmut - The Hero, Hartmut, was the first King of Bern. He wielded both Eckesachs and the Sword of Seals.
The Indigo Knight Tragedy
There rose a Knight known simply as the man in indigo, six hundred years after the scouring. He tried to wed the daughter of the king of bern, though he was a low lord of Etruria. The king spurned him, however, and the King of Etruria refused to offer help to the poor knight. The man in Indigo was roth and struck out to find a Witch of the Western Isles. I throw about the term "witch", but it is not a vile old banshee who hates humanity. She was a beatiful young women, who could simply perform magic with no words.
The indigo knight, tried to persuade the girl to aid him, to strike down the king. The girl refused. The indigo knight stayed for ten days to try to convince the girl to help him. She continued to refuse. He stole away the night before the eleventh day, stealing the divine Kasthuba jewel.
The legend of the Kasthuba jewel is that it was originally the dragonstone of Idenn, the demon dragon. It is supposedly the only thing that could possibly bring back the Dragons of the Scouring.
The Indigo Knight stole away to the dragons gate of Valor. He held the jewel out and said the words, "I bring the might of the dragons back to the Land of Elibe! And in my bringing you back, me you shall serve!" Ten dragons stepped through the dragons gate. With them the Indigo Knight took control of the unprepared Continent.
Not for long. Nine champions rose up to try and combat the dragons. The indigo Knight sent the troops of countries he now controlled after them. His loyal human subjects were upstart Bandits from all around. The nine champions and their forces retreated past a wooden bridge across the Ebro river. One of the Heroes, Cale, stayed behind and fought the bandits away. A dragon was summoned after all but a hundred bandits were slain, and burned the bridge to rid the Knight of perhaps the strongest of the heroes. His dying wish was that his village of Caelin would proclaim him Lord, and his child Heir.
The Warriors could never hope to truly defeat the dragons with no help. They fought there way to the witch of the Western Isles. She performed a rite to bestow great power onto the weapons of the heroes, and the heroes themselves. It drained her of her powers, but made the heroes close to the power of the scouring legends. Whilst there, she falls in love with the weakest of the heroes Thierry a young paladin, who is brave and tactful, but not strong physically. When the rite is done their love prompts him to become the most powerful Man to ever walk Elibe.

After they became Heroes worthy of legend they each hunted down a Dragon, struggled, but slew them, the last of which they made mincemeat of them together. The power clash threatened to start another Ending Winter. The Heroes of the Scouring rose again to try and stop it from happening again, and stop their guilt in the afterlife. They rallied toward the Indigo Knight, mostly out of hatred for themselves based on the harm they did Idden, to protect her old dragonstone. The following is the final conflict as told by Thoth the prophet of Horus.
