Selibas walked through the plains under the shadow of the Bern Mountains. He fingered the hilt of his sword on his left hip, hanging high enough for his arms to reach it quickly if needed. He had a bag slung on his back filled with provisions, and a salve of vulnerary. He held himself fully alert, in case he was attacked by bandits, or another tribe. Or hell, he thought, Illian occupationists. He slowed his pace when he saw an old man standing with his eyes closed. He was very unimposing, aside from the fact that as skinny as he was, he held a giant axe on one shoulder like it was nothing.
The man had darker skin than most Sacaens, pointing toward him being Nabatan. When he opened his eyes, Selibas saw that his pupils were surrounded by a bright green iris. The man's throat rumbled, then he spat as he spoke, "Try to steal my daughter eh? Well Meitor is not a man to be trifled with." Meitor raised his axe and let out what sounded like a yodel. He charged at the short Sacaen swordsman.

Selibas was surprised at how fast the old man moved. He wasn't fast enough, however, to keep up with the young swordsman. Selibas dodged a blow, "I didn't steal your daughter!" The axe crashed down into the ground. Selibas' blade flew out of its scabbard, but he didn't swing it. He dodged another blow forewarned by another bellow from the man. He Tried to swing at Selibas lowly, the boy barely side stepping. The man quickly lifted his axe again and cut Selibas across the chest. Selibas stepped in towards the man while he was still recovering from his earlier swing.
Selibas hit the man with his hilt. It pushed the man back a little bit. The man grabbed his shirt and pushed him back quite easily. Selibas blocked a blow from the giant axe coming towards his head, then shoulder rammed the old man, sending them both crashing into the ground. Selibas lifted his sword to the mans neck.

All of a sudden, the man seemed to go sane at just the right moment. Selibas had no intention of killing the man, but the old guy didn't know that. The man didn't struggle at all he simply said, "Ah, well if you could have taken my daughter by force, clearly you weren't among the group of men who kidnapped my daughter in the night." Selibas opened his mouth, but didn't say anything, but he moved off of the other man. The man got up, annd ran off, taking his heavy axe with him.

Selibas saw the large city, Bulgar. He trudged towards it through the mud and rain. It grew harder and harder too keep himself moving. He was tired, his legs hurt, he had no money to pay for an inn, and it as rining. This was a great day. He trudged along, through the mud and rain.
As his boots shed mud onto the cobblestone, Selibas breathed in new smells. This was his second time in Bulgar, but it still felt new. He ad gone in once by himself wwhen he was eight and lost his shoes, because, you know, they were stolen. He'd wondered back to his tribe with bloody feet, and no one had cared, or if they had they hadn't said anything. Selibas had no idea what he would do here, join a mercenary group or something.

Lavitz walked slowly through this Sacaen city. It was actually the Sacaen city, but no need to go into specifics in his own mind. He'd decided to lose all connection to Etruria, and the Etrurian army. He took the emblem off of his armor, and burned his papers. All he kept was a knapsack and his equipment. Now he was...what was he doing. Grabbing a bite to eat off a passing delivery cart more like. Though stealing could also be an appropriate word.
He wasn't exactly smooth with it, and a passing woman screamed, "Thief!" She had a Nabatan look about her, so he doubted he could start a prayer and quite her down. So he simply picked out a passing Sacaen child. Well, he had a beard and a sword, but that mattered not. He grabbed him and yelled down at him, "Yeah, what's the idea? Huh? Taking something that's sale would make a man a living!?" The vendor had quicklly sped away, wanting to avoid trouble. The screaming was beginning to attract a few of the guards. Lavitz hoped the woman would keep her mouth shut.

Selibas growled as he was grabbed. He shoved the man off of him. The man was tall, and had a lance, two advantages. One of the guards walked up slowly. He stepped between the two men, and let his cane thumping against the ground. He spoke with a strange accent, a mixture of all the cultures that met in this one city, this one hearth of ideas and human evolution. If Selibas hadn't been growing in his anger, it might have struck him as what it was. Amazing.
As he was, it struck him as a hub of scum like the man in front of him. The guard spoke up, "Awlhrite, whatt is thies?" A woman, Nabatan, stepped forward, "The blonde man stole food of of a cahrt. He thried to pin it on this young boy." The guard turned to look quizzically at Lavitz.

That didn't work, Lavitz thought. He wasn't exactly sure how he could get out of this. Maybe he should try convincing the strange man to trust him as a man of the cloth. He had no way of knowing what this man was, heritage or otherwise. For all Lavitz knew, the man could be a fellow follower of Elimine. He reached his hand to the man's shoulder, he said in his best preaching voice, "My son, you are the victim of the illusions and lies that rule the human mind and heart. I am but the son of a preacher, an honest soldier on the front lines of faith. I do not blame these two for their fault of judgement and vision, but I must alert you, I did not steal, this young lad however, did."
Lavitz smiled piously while Selibas was dragged off. He looked angrily as the woman stalked off, and honestly felt guilty. He sighed and walked after the duo of guard and prisoner.

Selibas's jaw dropped as he was grabbed and dragged away. He didn't fight, he just let his weight drop. The guard grunted and hoisted him up, and Selibas dropped again. The guard continued to drag him, but let him drag against the ground. Selibas didn't care, he was struggling to walk anyway. He noticed the man who'd put him in this situation was following him. What a smug bastard.
Selibas got tossed into a jail cell by his large escort, and he fell on the ground. He slowly rose, noting he was alone in the cell. He moved slowly to a cot in the corner of the room, and laid down.

Lavitz walked into the prison smiling. He noted that there were only two cells, and only the one holding the young Sacaen was occupied. Lavitz sat down on a stool and said, "Hello, my name is Lavitz Slambert. I apologize for what happened out there, but I simply didn't want to be captured. I'm sorry you had to take the blame for it, but I'd like to make it up to you, at some point, so I'll be staying at the inn just east of the one you're in." He stood, "I'll be off."

Selibas slept angrily through the night. He woke up with a stiff back and a bad attitude. He angrily got his sword back and angrily walked out of the prison. After angrily walking to the inn next door, and angrily sitting down, he angrily waited for the man who had sent him to jail. A woman walked up, "What an I get ya' yungin'?" Selibas replied, "Surprise me." She brought him a cup of something called 'whiskey' and Selibas waited. Angrily.
