The Slave Trade

The slave trade is a dark component of the global economy. A dark, but real component of the global economy. Etruria and Nabata are the spearhead of the trade. Certain Lycian fiefdoms allow it and some do not. The majority of Sacaens find it repulsive, but some tribes make an effort to capture slaves. Illia can neither support or opress it (members of the small council clash over it quite often). Bern is the only mainland country to completely abolish slavery. Carthage is the only Isle that participates in the slave trade. They send out "Privateers" whose purpouse is to capture slaves for sale ion the mainland. Pirates on the other islands will capture woman, and take prisoners, but all prisoners, men and woman, are freed once they'e served a purpose. Many choose to stay.

Caledonia is home to a group of people who make it their sole purpose to free slaves from Etruria Illia and Nabata. Lycia has few outlets close to the sea that practice slavery, therefore the company would be less effective Liberating them. One group of liberated men from Etruria started a small but growing Mercenary Group, The Liberated Men, for free'd slaves.

If a Major House in Lycia practices slavery, its Minor houses do as well.
